The White School International (TWSI), a private international residential school in Kozhikode, Kerala, has received formal authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland to run the IB Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program and Diploma Program. This makes TWSI the only school in Kerala to offer the IB curriculum for all ages from nursery through higher-secondary.
"We're extremely proud of this achievement" Principal Dr. Rupesh told members of the school community. "The IB programs are recognized around the world for their high academic standards and innovative, student-centred approaches to learning," he added.
As an IB World School, TWSI joins some of the most elite international schools in the world, indicating the school meets the IB's rigorous standards and applies them in its programs. Of 170 IB World Schools in India, TWSI is one of just thirty of the top programs to achieve the IB Continuum status.
The process for IB authorization is known for its stringent requirements, including a comprehensive application process evaluating facilities and policies and a two-day site visit by international IB representatives.
"With this authorization, students are gaining for the first time in Kerala one of the most established pathways to higher education opportunities around the world," writes Eric Steere, Head of Student Affairs at TWSI. "IB education is practically-oriented and really engages children to be active learners right from nursery. By the time they reach higher secondary they are confident in themselves and what they can bring to the world, and the Diploma can really open doors for them, regardless of whether they want to study in India or abroad."
